Interview in Indonesia Now

After more than a year, I finally got the chance to convert the video of my interview in Metro TV’s Indonesia Now and posted it in YouTube. This goes back in January 2007 when we don’t even have a dedicated furniture in our office :D.

Less is More

When Steny and Pandji from the Good Morning Hardrockers Show interviewed me last week, Steny asked about how I do my designs. I said “Less is More”, and I found an article that explains it perfectly over at PSDTUTS.

The “Less is More” principles, while effective, has been proven hard to apply, especially to the local market, where people tend to “itch” when they see huge white spaces, small type size, or even a design that doesn’t have more than three typefaces. Stereotypically, it’s as if they should’ve paid less because we put less elements in a certain design.

To us, less elements doesn’t mean that we’re lazy. It means that we use the elements EFFECTIVELY to create EFFECTIVE designs. Besides, why putting anything useless in a design? That is called “clutter”.

New iMac

10 days ago, we decided that we should do an upgrade to our office hardware. And since Disti (a friend of ours) is also coming to be our newest graphic designer, we obviously need a new workstation.

So here it is, my G5 iMac goes to the next workstation, and the new Intel iMac replaces mine. Bottom line, it serves well indeed! Mind the gloss, though.

Christ Ascension Holiday

Our office will be closed for the upcoming Christ Ascension holiday on Thursday, May 1, 2008. We will be back open on Friday, the next day.

Utama Putranto

We have finally finished the website design for our photography partner, Utama Putranto. The site features a very minimalistic and elegant approach that emphasizes his portfolio more than anything else.

Website Upgrade

Yes, after that long life of version 6 and 7, we finally have the time to fully upgrade our website’s design to something that is more “US”. We also improved the usability, accessibility, and simplicity, all of this for the better of our visitor’s browsing experience. Since we just renovated our home, there will be more new updates over the next few weeks. And oh, yes it does look crappy on IE. But then again, unless it’s a Flash-based website, everything looks crappy in Windows.

Easter Holiday

It’s gonna be another long weekend again this week, our office will be closed from Thursday, March 20, 2008 for the Easter holiday. We’ll be back open on the next Monday. Happy Easter!
